Instant fixed price · CDG, Orly & Le Bourget ↔ Paris from €119 (sedan) · €149 (van, up to 7) · €199 (First Class) · Beauvais from €220

Fixed, all-inclusive price shown before you book — tolls, waiting for your flight and luggage included. Nothing is charged until you confirm. Hourly and point-to-point rides are priced on the same page.

If you would call a black car in New York or Chicago, this is the Paris equivalent. Reservation Chauffeur is a licensed private-hire company (VTC license EVTC075167695) based on the Champs-Élysées, with its own fleet and its own chauffeurs. You book ahead, the price is fixed, the car is a Mercedes, and the driver is waiting for you, not the other way around. No meter, no yellow-cab line, no surge.

Fixed price, in writing

The fare is confirmed when you book and never changes on the day. Tolls, parking, fuel and normal waiting are inside it.

Met with your name

At the airport, your chauffeur stands in the arrivals hall with a sign. At a hotel, he is at the door at the agreed time, and you have his cell number before the ride.

English-speaking chauffeurs

Professional drivers who speak English and French, know the hotel entrances and reply to your messages during the booking.

What “car service” means in Paris

Paris has two kinds of hired cars. Taxis (the ones with the roof light) can be hailed, use a meter, and charge a regulated flat fare from the airports. VTC, the French legal category for private hire, is what Americans would call a car service or black car service: a licensed chauffeur, a car booked in advance, and a price agreed before the ride. Uber and other apps also run on VTC licenses, but you take whichever driver is nearby, at whatever the app decides to charge at that moment, and you meet the car at a curbside pickup zone.

What we add is what a good car service adds back home: a company you can call, a chauffeur assigned to you by name, a vehicle you chose, a flight that is tracked, and a flat fare that does not move because three planes landed at once. For a plain comparison of the three options, see our guide taxi vs private chauffeur in Paris.

Airport car service: CDG, Orly, Le Bourget and Beauvais

Arrivals hall at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport where the chauffeur waits with a name sign

Most US flights land at Charles de Gaulle, 25 km (about 15 miles) northeast of the city: Delta and Air France at 2E, American at 2A, United at Terminal 1. Your chauffeur knows which door you will come through and waits there, inside, with your name. Clear passport control, collect your bags, walk out, and he takes the luggage to the car. Forty-five minutes to an hour and a quarter later you are at your hotel door.

  • Flight tracked — give us the flight number and the pickup follows the actual landing time, early or late.
  • 60 minutes of waiting included after touchdown, enough for a long line at immigration after a red-eye from JFK or LAX.
  • One flat fare per car — €119 in Business Class, €149 in the 7-seat van, €199 in First Class to or from Paris, tolls and terminal parking included.
  • Hotel-to-airport rides at the same flat fare: tell us the flight and we suggest the pickup time; your chauffeur is at the hotel door, reachable on his cell.

Details and terminal maps on our CDG airport transfer and Orly airport transfer pages. Flying private? We meet you at the FBO at Le Bourget. Low-cost flights from Europe use Beauvais, 85 km north, from €220.

Hourly “as directed” car service in Paris

For a day of meetings, shopping or sightseeing, book the car and chauffeur by the hour and keep them: from €79 per hour in Business Class, €109 in the Business Van and €150 in First Class, with a two-hour minimum and 25 km included per hour. The chauffeur waits outside every stop, deals with the parking, and the car is at the door within minutes when you come out. Add a stop, skip one, extend into dinner: a word to the driver is all it takes.

Typical as-directed days: a roadshow between the 8th arrondissement and La Défense; the boutiques of Avenue Montaigne and the Faubourg Saint-Honoré with the bags going into the trunk between stores; a loop of the Eiffel Tower, Trocadéro, Montmartre and the Pont Alexandre III at your own pace; or a dinner across town with the car waiting outside the restaurant. Full terms and examples on the hourly chauffeur service page.

Hotel to hotel, dinner, station and point-to-point rides

Inside Paris, a one-way ride is priced as a fixed fare shown before you confirm: your hotel to a restaurant in Saint-Germain, the Marais to Gare du Nord for the Eurostar, the Ritz to La Défense for a 9 am meeting. Fifteen minutes of waiting are included at any non-airport pickup, your chauffeur loads and unloads the luggage, and the booking stays in your account with the invoice. For a trip with several stops in a row, the hourly service above usually works out simpler.

Car service vs taxi vs Uber in Paris

Car service — €119 from CDG, fixed

Booked ahead, chauffeur in the arrivals hall with your name, flight tracked, Mercedes, waiting included. Same price whatever the hour or the demand.

Taxi — regulated airport flat fare

€56 or €65 from CDG, €36 or €44 from Orly depending on the bank of the Seine, after the taxi line outside the terminal. Cheapest for one or two people; nobody meets you, and no English is guaranteed.

Uber and apps — variable

The fare climbs when several flights land together, the driver is whoever is closest, and you meet the car at an outdoor pickup zone with your bags.

Traveling alone with a carry-on in daytime, a taxi is good value. With family, real luggage, a late landing or a meeting to make, the car service is the one that costs the same on paper and on the day.

Tipping, paying in euros and other things Americans ask us

Tipping. Not expected. In France, service is included in the price by law, and nothing is added to your bill, no 18–20 % line, no suggested gratuity on the receipt. A few euros in cash for a chauffeur who went out of his way is a kind gesture and nothing more; our tipping guide explains the local etiquette.

Paying. You pay by card online when you book, in euros; your card issuer converts at its own rate, so you see the exact euro figure before confirming and the dollar amount on your statement. Nothing is charged until you confirm, and an invoice arrives by e-mail for your expense report.

Child seats. Infant seat, child seat or booster, fitted before pickup and free of charge. Give us each child's age and weight when you book.

Changes and cancellations. Transfers booked by a private customer are free to cancel more than 24 hours before pickup; changes of time or address are free up to 2 hours before. Day trips and hourly bookings are free to cancel up to 24 hours ahead. If your airline cancels the flight, cancellation is free whatever the notice. Full conditions in our terms of service.

Reaching us. Our office is at 66 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, 75008 Paris, +33 1 53 26 04 33 (France is six hours ahead of New York, nine ahead of Los Angeles). Bookings are confirmed by e-mail, and you get your chauffeur's name and cell number before the ride.

Day trips from Paris with the same chauffeur

The car service that picks you up at CDG can also take you out of the city, with a hotel pickup, a fixed all-inclusive price and the same chauffeur all day. The classics for American visitors: the Palace of Versailles, 30 to 45 minutes away and best entered before the crowds; the Champagne houses of Reims and Épernay, with tastings booked for you; and the Normandy D-Day beaches, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, a long but unforgettable day. We also run Disneyland Paris from the airports and the city, Giverny, the Loire castles and Mont-Saint-Michel. Most day trips are priced as excursions; for a day inside Paris and the near suburbs, the hourly service is the better formula.

Paris car service FAQ

What is a car service in Paris, and how is it different from a taxi?

A car service is a pre-booked private car with a professional chauffeur, at a price fixed before the ride. In France it operates under a VTC license, the legal category for private hire. A Paris taxi is hailed or taken from a rank and runs on a meter (or a regulated flat fare at the airports); a car service is reserved in advance, in a named vehicle, with the driver waiting for you rather than the other way around.

How much does a car service from a Paris airport to my hotel cost?

From Charles de Gaulle or Orly to a Paris hotel: €119 in a Mercedes E-Class, €149 in a 7-seat V-Class van, €199 in an S-Class. Le Bourget is from €119 and Beauvais from €220. The price is per car, not per person, and includes tolls, terminal parking, the name sign in arrivals and 60 minutes of waiting after landing.

Is there a black car service at Charles de Gaulle with meet and greet?

Yes. Your chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, at the baggage-claim exit, holding a sign with your name. He has your flight number and adjusts to the real landing time. You receive his name and cell number before you board, so one call finds him if the hall is crowded.

Can I book a car service by the hour in Paris?

Yes, this is our as-directed service: the car and chauffeur stay with you for as long as you book, from €79 per hour in Business Class, €109 in the van and €150 in First Class, with a two-hour minimum and 25 km included per hour. Waiting between stops is part of the price, and you can change the plan as you go.

Do your chauffeurs speak English?

Yes. Our chauffeurs speak English and French, know the hotel entrances and office addresses of Paris, and stay reachable by phone or message throughout your booking.

Do I tip a car service driver in Paris?

No. In France, service is included in the price by law, and nothing is added to your bill. If a chauffeur impressed you, a few euros in cash is a kind gesture, nothing more. Nobody will think less of you for not tipping.

Can I pay in US dollars?

You pay by card online when you book, in euros; your card issuer converts the amount at its own rate. All major cards are accepted, nothing is charged until you confirm, and an invoice arrives by e-mail.

Do you provide car seats for children?

Yes. Infant seat, child seat or booster, fitted before pickup and free of charge. Tell us the age and weight of each child when you book.

Can your car service take us on a day trip to Versailles, Champagne or the D-Day beaches?

Yes. Day trips are quoted as a fixed all-inclusive price with hotel pickup and the same chauffeur all day: Versailles, Giverny, the Champagne houses of Reims and Épernay, the Loire castles or the Normandy landing beaches. For a day inside Paris and its near suburbs, the hourly service is usually the better formula.

What happens if my flight is late, or if I have to cancel?

Flight delays are tracked and cost nothing: the pickup moves to the actual landing time and 60 minutes of waiting are included. Transfers booked by a private customer can be cancelled free of charge more than 24 hours before pickup; changes of time or address are free up to 2 hours before. Day trips and hourly bookings are free to cancel up to 24 hours ahead.
