Book a VTC in Paris — Fixed Prices, 24/7
A VTC is what the French call a licensed private-hire chauffeur: booked in advance, at a fixed all-inclusive price, in a premium car. Not a taxi, not a ride-hailing app. Airport transfers, hourly hire, business travel: book in a few clicks, pay by card, no meter, no surge, no tip expected.
Book a VTC ↗What does “VTC” mean, for a visitor to Paris?
VTC, Voiture de Transport avec Chauffeur, is the French legal category for a licensed private-hire chauffeur: the equivalent of a car service in the United States or a private-hire car in the UK. It is the word locals type into Google when they want a private driver. The rules are simple: a VTC is booked in advance, never hailed in the street, and never runs a meter. The price is agreed when you book, with fuel, tolls and waiting time included, so a jam on the périphérique costs you nothing extra.
Our VTC service covers all of Paris and the Île-de-France region, from the Champs-Élysées to Neuilly-sur-Seine, Versailles and Disneyland, with recent Mercedes vehicles and professional, English-speaking chauffeurs, around the clock.
How to book your VTC in Paris in three steps

Get my fixed price ↗Fixed price or meter: what it really changes
On a meter, the fare depends on what you cannot control: an accident on the ring road, a demonstration at République, rain that doubles the journey time. With a VTC booked with us, the price is calculated in advance on distance and does not move: €79 minimum for a ride inside Paris, then €2.70 per kilometre once the trip goes beyond about thirty kilometres. Twenty minutes of traffic cost nothing more; that is our risk, not yours.
That €79 minimum buys a recent Mercedes, a chauffeur waiting at the agreed time, 15 minutes of waiting at pickup, and no night, Sunday or high-demand supplement. For a short hop it costs more than a taxi hailed on the corner; for a meeting you cannot be late for, it guarantees a car on time and a price known the day before.
Worked examples: what a VTC costs in Paris

VTC vs taxi vs Uber in Paris
- VTC (us): pre-booked, fixed all-inclusive price, premium vehicle, a named English-speaking chauffeur, live tracking. The same fare on a rainy Monday morning as on a quiet Sunday.
- Taxi: hailed in the street or at a rank, metered fare that climbs with traffic, car and driver vary. Regulated flat fares from the airports (€56 to €65 from CDG, €36 to €44 from Orly), but from the queue outside, with no meet and greet.
- Uber and apps: the drivers hold the same VTC licence, but the app sends whichever car is nearest and the price surges when demand spikes. No guarantee of who turns up for a 5 am flight.
Landing at CDG with luggage and a schedule, the difference is immediate: your chauffeur has tracked the flight, waits in arrivals with your name, and the price on your confirmation is the price you pay. See also Uber vs private chauffeur at the airport.
Licensed chauffeurs, VTC card checked
Behind every booking is a chauffeur we know. All of them hold the French VTC professional card, mandatory by law, which we check before a first ride along with the driving licence, insurance and the state of the vehicle. Most have worked with us for years, for business clients, hotels and families who ask for them by first name. They wear a suit, speak English, know the exits at La Défense and the doors of the grand hotels, and do not smoke in the car.
The vehicle is ours too, not a stranger's: recent, immaculate Mercedes. If something happens to your chauffeur, we assign another; you never face a last-minute cancellation.
Payment, tipping, changes and cancellation
You pay by card online when you book, in euros; your bank converts from dollars, pounds or any other currency, and an invoice is e-mailed automatically. Nothing to settle in the car, and no tip expected: tipping is not customary in France, though a few euros for an excellent chauffeur are always welcome. A flight brought forward, a meeting moved: message or call us and we adjust the time or the address. Cancellation terms depend on the service and appear on your confirmation and in our terms. Companies visiting Paris regularly open a business account with monthly invoicing.
