Veuve Clicquot Tour from Paris — Private Chauffeur to Reims
Trade the train and the timetable for a private chauffeur: door-to-door from Paris to the historic Veuve Clicquot house in Reims, with your car waiting while you explore the cellars and raise a glass of Yellow Label.
Plan my Champagne day ↗Veuve Clicquot day trip from Paris · about 9 hours with your private chauffeur · from €749 per vehicle
The price is per vehicle, not per person — your own private car and chauffeur for the whole day. Nothing is charged until you confirm.
Why go to Veuve Clicquot by private car
A Veuve Clicquot visit runs to a fixed, guided slot, and arriving late for an experience you have already paid for is the one thing to avoid. The House's visitor centre is about ten minutes by car from the Reims TGV station, so even travellers who come by train need a car at the other end. A private chauffeur takes the guesswork out: the car leaves your Paris hotel with a margin built in, drops you at the entrance on Rue Albert Thomas and is waiting nearby when you come back up from the crayères. A coach tour chooses the house for you; here you have chosen the House, and the car is simply the most reliable way to be there on time and get home afterwards. Then there is the tasting itself. After a glass or two of Yellow Label, nobody should be driving back along the A4. The chauffeur drives; every one of you tastes.
The Veuve Clicquot experience in Reims
Founded in 1772 and shaped by the pioneering Madame Clicquot, the House of Veuve Clicquot ages its champagnes deep beneath Reims in the crayères — historic chalk cellars carved into the hillside, part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. A guided cellar visit takes you down into these cool, cathedral-like galleries before a tasting of the iconic Brut Yellow Label — with Rosé and the prestige La Grande Dame cuvées also available.
Beyond the cellars, the House offers a stylish Clicquot Café, a chic Picnic experience in Reims, and — for groups — private events in exceptional settings. The Centre des Visites sits at 1 Rue Albert Thomas, 51100 Reims — about 10 minutes by car from Reims TGV station, accessible to visitors with reduced mobility, and a short drive from Reims Cathedral. Check current opening days and hours on the House's website. Visits are guided and must be booked in advance — especially from May to October — and the cellars stay a cool 10–12°C year-round, so bring a light layer.
Cellar visits, tastings and private events are reserved directly with Maison Veuve Clicquot. We provide the private door-to-door transport and waiting, and can help you time your slot.

Booking your Veuve Clicquot visit
The visit is not part of our package. It is sold by the House itself, and the House alone sets its experiences, prices and available times. The order that works best:
- Reserve your slot with the House. Choose your experience on the official Veuve Clicquot website and book a time for your date. From May to October, do it as early as you can.
- Send us the time. Tell us your slot, and anything else you have booked — lunch, a second house. We set your pick-up in Paris so that you arrive with a comfortable margin.
- On the day, just turn up. Your chauffeur drops you at the Centre des Visites, 1 Rue Albert Thomas, and waits. If the House moves your slot, let us know and we re-time the day.
Your day, hour by hour
Here is a day built around an 11:00 visit, within the package's nine hours or so with your chauffeur. With an earlier or later slot, everything slides accordingly.
- 8:30 — Pick-up in Paris. At the door of your hotel or apartment, then east on the A4.
- 10:00 — Reims Cathedral. Arrive with time for the coronation church of the kings of France, a short drive from the House.
- 10:45 — Rue Albert Thomas. Drop-off at the Centre des Visites a few minutes ahead of your slot.
- 11:00 — Your visit. Down into the crayères with the House's guide, then the tasting. The House lists experiences lasting from one hour to half a day; the car waits for as long as yours takes.
- 12:30 — Lunch in Reims. Not included. Your chauffeur drops you wherever you have booked; the House's Clicquot Café is worth a look on its website when you reserve your visit.
- 14:00 — The afternoon is yours. A second house, the vineyard road or Épernay — see the options below.
- 16:00 — Return to Paris. About 1h30 on the road.
- Around 17:30 — Back at your door. Evening traffic into Paris can add a little time.
Chosen one of the longer experiences? The House lists some at two hours and at four. In that case keep the afternoon light — lunch, perhaps the cathedral, and home. If you want more time in Reims than the package allows, ask when you book and we will quote the extra hours.
Around the House: the rest of your day
Veuve Clicquot takes the morning. What you do with the afternoon depends on your appetite for more champagne.
Reims Cathedral
Gothic, UNESCO-listed, the church where French kings were crowned — and a short drive from the House. It fits before or after your visit with no planning at all.
A second house in Reims
Taittinger, Mumm, Pommery and Ruinart are all in the city. Tasting another house's style on the same day is the quickest way to understand what sets Clicquot apart. Booked with that house.
The vineyard road
The UNESCO-listed hillsides south of Reims, taken by the small roads through the grand-cru villages rather than the motorway. The House's Manoir de Verzy is out in the vines too, though it is reserved for private events.
Épernay
Thirty minutes south: the Avenue de Champagne, with Moët & Chandon, Perrier-Jouët and Mercier. A good plan if you have a reservation there; the drive back to Paris is then about 1h45.
Or simply head home
Nothing obliges you to fill the afternoon. After a long tasting, an unhurried lunch and an early return to Paris is a perfectly good day.
Want the whole region rather than one House? Our Champagne tour from Paris gives Reims, Épernay and the vineyards equal weight.
Private events & groups in Champagne
Celebrations, incentives and receptions at Veuve Clicquot's own venues — with door-to-door chauffeur transport for your whole party.
Event experiences and pricing are set by Maison Veuve Clicquot. We arrange the private chauffeur transport from Paris or Reims for your group.

Veuve Clicquot tour price by vehicle
Full day from Paris to Reims and back — around 1h30 each way plus your visit, about 9 hours in all.
| Vehicle | Seats & luggage | Per vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| Sedan (Business Class) | 3 passengers, 2 suitcases | €749 |
| Van (Business Van) | 7 passengers, 7 suitcases | €899 |
| First Class | 3 passengers, 2 suitcases | €1,030 |
The price is per vehicle, not per person: for a couple in the Sedan it works out at about €375 each, for six friends in the Van about €150 each. It covers the chauffeur, the car, fuel, tolls and waiting. The Veuve Clicquot visit and tasting are paid to the House.
Practical tips for your visit
- The House comes first. Reserve your Veuve Clicquot slot before anything else, and well ahead from May to October. The car can be arranged around it; the reverse is harder.
- Choose the experience before the date. The House's experiences range from an hour to half a day. That choice decides whether there is room for a second house in the afternoon.
- Check the season's opening days. The House opens fewer days outside summer; confirm current days and times on its official website when you book.
- Bring a layer. The crayères stay at a cool 10–12°C all year, and there are stairs: flat shoes are the sensible choice.
- Reduced mobility? The visitor centre is accessible. Let us know too, and your chauffeur will set you down as close to the entrance as possible.
- Travelling with teenagers or children? Check the House's conditions for minors before you book the experience.
- Buying bottles? Whatever you buy in Reims rides home in the boot, right to your hotel.
Is a Veuve Clicquot tour worth it?
Yes, if Veuve Clicquot is the reason you want to go to Champagne at all — a favourite bottle, an anniversary, a gift to someone who loves the yellow label. A day built around the House makes sense: you arrive on time without thinking about it, you take in the cathedral and a proper lunch, and nobody drives after the tasting. It works especially well for couples, and for groups of four to seven sharing the Van.
Probably not, if you are on your own, or two on a tight budget, and want nothing more than the one-hour visit. The TGV from Paris Gare de l'Est reaches Reims in about 45 minutes and costs far less; our Reims chauffeur service can meet your train for the day's visits. If your aim is to see as much of Champagne as possible rather than one House, our Champagne tour is the better fit. And if nobody in your party drinks, you do not really need a chauffeur for this.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Reims from Paris?
Reims is about 1h30 by road from central Paris. With a private chauffeur you travel door-to-door — no train transfers, no parking — and the car waits during your cellar visit.
Is the Veuve Clicquot tasting included?
No. The guided cellar visit and tasting are booked and paid directly with Maison Veuve Clicquot (advance reservation required; visits are guided only). We provide the private door-to-door transport and waiting, and can help you time your slot.
How long is the day?
Plan a full day of about nine hours: around 1h30 each way plus your cellar visit, tasting and lunch. Your chauffeur stays at your disposal and can add Reims Cathedral or a second Champagne house.
What is the price?
€749 in a Sedan (up to 3 passengers), €899 in a Van (up to 7) or €1,030 in First Class (up to 3), per vehicle for the full day, all-inclusive transport. Tasting fees are paid to the House separately.
How do I book the Veuve Clicquot visit?
Directly on the official Veuve Clicquot website, where the House lists its current experiences, prices and available times. Book your slot first, then send us the time: we set your pick-up in Paris around it.
Can we visit another Champagne house the same day?
Yes. Taittinger, Mumm, Pommery and Ruinart are also in Reims, and Épernay's Avenue de Champagne is about 30 minutes away. Book the second visit with that house and we plan the route between the two.
Can we see Reims Cathedral as well?
Yes. The cathedral is a short drive from the House, so it fits easily before or after your visit. Your chauffeur drops you at the square and waits.
Does the chauffeur come on the cellar visit?
No. The visit is led by the House's own guides. Your chauffeur is a driver, not a tour guide: they wait nearby and are ready when you come back up.
Can we take the train and be met in Reims instead?
Yes. If you prefer the TGV, a chauffeur can meet you at Reims station for the day's visits through our Reims chauffeur service. The full day from Paris simply removes the station transfers.
What should I wear for the cellars?
Flat shoes and a light layer. The cellars stay at around 10 to 12°C all year and the visit involves stairs, even in the middle of summer.
