Paris CDG to London with Your Pet — Private Chauffeur, Same Day
Landing at Roissy with your cat or dog, when London is where you actually need to be? Eurostar will not take pets and airlines put them in the hold. Your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall and drives you to your London address in the same car, via LeShuttle.
Request a CDG to London quote ↗The situation is specific: you land at Paris-Charles de Gaulle — or Orly — on a long-haul flight, your pet is travelling with you, and you need to be in London the same day. Eurostar carries no cats or dogs (assistance dogs aside); a second flight means another spell in the hold. That leaves the road, the gentlest of the three. Your chauffeur is waiting as you leave the terminal, loads the cases and the carrier, then heads for Coquelles on the A1 and A26 without crossing Paris — Roissy already sits north of the city. We did it on 23 September 2026, a 5:30 am pick-up at Terminal 2E, one passenger and her cat.
Met in the Arrivals Hall
Name board at the exit of Terminal 2E, 2F, 1 or Orly. Flight tracked live, waiting time included.
One Car All the Way
No connection, no hold: your pet stays in the cabin from Roissy to your London doorstep, crossing included.
Pet Reception Handled
Booking reference, pet passport, microchip scanned through the window — your chauffeur takes care of it. You never leave the car.
This transfer extends our CDG airport transfer and our Paris to London chauffeur service, the reference page for departures from a Paris address. For up to three passengers and one pet, Business Class is all you need; a family, several animals or bulky luggage: Business Van or First Class on request. Within Paris itself, our pet-friendly chauffeurs welcome animals all year round.
Good to know
- Arrivals hall — Terminal 2E, 2F, 1 or Orly, at the actual landing time, waiting included.
- About 3 hours of motorway from Roissy to Coquelles on the A1 then A26, without entering Paris; A16 exit 42b, passenger terminal.
- Pet Reception between 2 hours and 1 hour before the shuttle departs, without leaving the vehicle; check-in closes 1 hour before.
- 35-minute crossing, everyone stays on board; then about 1h45 on the M20 to London.
- Passport required; ETA or visa according to the nationality of the passport, not the country of residence.
- Business Class from 1,300 EUR one way from CDG, crossing and pet supplement included.
From the arrivals hall to your London door
Your chauffeur tracks the flight and waits at the customs exit with your name; you take the time you need to collect luggage and pet, and no meter is running. Carrier wedged on the back seat — or cat on your lap, that is your call — the car is on the A1 within minutes: Paris and its ring road will never be on your route.
Three hours of open plain later, with a stop if your dog needs one, the first halt at Coquelles is the Pet Reception, a dedicated building before the border controls. The chauffeur shows the booking reference and the pet passport; the officer scans the chip through the window and hands over the PETS tag to hang from the mirror. Then come the French exit check and the UK entry check, still from your seat. And the car drives into the train: 35 minutes of steady hum, and an animal that, in our experience, sleeps more than it worries. At Folkestone, the M20, about 1h45 of Kent, and the drop-off at the agreed address, Congestion Charge and ULEZ settled by us.

Passenger paperwork: the passport decides
Every passenger enters the UK on a valid passport; a national ID card is no longer accepted. After that, only the nationality of the passport counts. EU passport or visa-exempt nationality: you need an ETA, the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation — about 16 GBP on the UK ETA app, usually issued within three working days, valid two years; Irish citizens are exempt. Visa-national passport — Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, much of Africa and Asia: the ETA is closed to you and you need a Standard Visitor visa, applied for roughly three weeks ahead.
The point that surprises our clients most: a French residence permit does not exempt you from a UK visa. Living in Paris counts for nothing on the British side. Check your case on gov.uk/check-uk-visa and apply for the ETA at gov.uk/eta. On our side, your chauffeur travels on his own ETA, and we send Eurotunnel the passport details of everyone in the vehicle (Advance Passenger Information) 24 hours before the crossing: we ask for them when you book, never at the last minute.
Pet paperwork: the essentials
Cat, dog or ferret from France or the EU: microchip fitted before the vaccination, rabies vaccine valid from day 21, animal at least 12 weeks old, original EU pet passport issued by a vet. Dogs additionally receive a tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before arriving in Great Britain, recorded in the passport; cats and ferrets are exempt. Five animals per traveller at most; someone else's pet: written authorisation from the owner.
Pet landing from a country not listed by the UK — most of Africa and Asia: a rabies antibody blood test at least 30 days after the vaccination, a three-month wait before entering Great Britain, an official health certificate less than ten days old. Without these, the Pet Reception refuses the animal. Send us its documents before booking and we will go through them with you. The step-by-step is in our guide to travelling with pets on LeShuttle; the official reference remains gov.uk/bring-pet-to-great-britain.
The chauffeur's view
Wednesday 23 September, 5:30 am, Terminal 2E. The passenger comes through customs with two suitcases and a soft carrier from which two green eyes size us up; the cat's EU passport was read page by page the evening before. Ten minutes later, the A1, Paris behind us, day breaking over Picardy. A stop near Arras: he is asleep. At Coquelles the window goes down — reference, passport, chip reader — and the PETS tag stamped 10:46 swings from the mirror. Two checks, one boarding lane, and the E-Class parks in the beige light of the 12:16 shuttle. Thirty-five minutes of silence; the carrier has not moved. Folkestone, the M20, the first roundabouts on the left, then West End Lane, West Hampstead, a little before 2 pm UK time. On the pavement the cat steps out, looks at London, and sits down. That is precisely what this job is for.
CDG to London with a Pet — FAQ
Can my cat stay with me in the car for the whole crossing?
Yes, from Roissy to London. The microchip is scanned through the window at the Pet Reception and, during the 35 minutes under the Channel, chauffeur, passengers and pet all stay on board. Your cat or dog never changes car or hands.
How long between landing at CDG and the shuttle departure?
About 3 hours of driving to Coquelles, and the pet must be checked in between 2 hours and 1 hour before departure. We therefore usually book a shuttle 4h30 to 5 hours after your scheduled landing time: enough to collect luggage and pet, take a break and pass the Pet Reception without rushing.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Your chauffeur tracks the flight live and waiting time is included. If the delay puts the booked shuttle at risk, we move you to a later departure — LeShuttle runs all day — and let you know before you have even left the terminal.
Do I need a visa if I hold a French residence permit?
It depends on the nationality of your passport, not on where you live: a French residence permit does not exempt you from a UK visa. EU passport or visa-exempt nationality: an ETA is enough (about 16 GBP, UK ETA app, valid 2 years). Visa-national passport, Ivorian or Burkinabe for example: a Standard Visitor visa, applied for about 3 weeks ahead. Check your case on gov.uk/check-uk-visa.
What paperwork does my pet need to enter Great Britain?
From France or the EU: microchip fitted before the rabies vaccination, vaccine valid from day 21, animal at least 12 weeks old, original EU pet passport. Dogs add a tapeworm treatment between 24 and 120 hours before arrival; cats and ferrets are exempt. Our guide details every step.
My pet is arriving from outside the EU — is a same-day crossing possible?
Only if everything was prepared in advance: a rabies antibody blood test at least 30 days after the vaccination, a 3-month wait before entering Great Britain, and an official health certificate less than 10 days old. Without these, the Pet Reception refuses the animal. Send us its documents before booking and we will go through them with you.
