Golf, a château and the loveliest corner of the Vexin
What sets Villarceaux apart is the ground it plays over. The course was laid out on the domaine de Villarceaux, an estate that has been tended since the Middle Ages, and the routing makes the most of it: real elevation change hole after hole, water waiting below the greens, and long views over the château and its parkland from the upper fairways. The estate itself is famous for Ninon de Lenclos, the great wit of the Grand Siècle who stayed in the manor by the water gardens; in season, the gardens of the domaine open to visitors, so the terrace where you take lunch after the 18th looks over a piece of French history rather than a car park. Unlike the closed clubs of the west of Paris, Villarceaux welcomes visiting golfers — which makes it the natural choice for a discovery round in grand surroundings.
It also anchors one of the best full days out of Paris that most visitors never hear of. The Vexin français is protected parkland — wheat, poppies, stone farms — and its two stars are minutes from the course: La Roche-Guyon, officially one of the most beautiful villages in France, its château built into the chalk cliff above the Seine, about ten minutes away; and Giverny, Monet's house and water-lily gardens, roughly twenty-five minutes across the river. The classic shape on day disposal: morning round with the château below you, lunch, then cliff-top village or painter's garden in the afternoon, and back in Paris for dinner — chauffeur waiting at every stop, clubs and a change of clothes aboard. Our Paris to Giverny guide covers that side of the river in detail.
For companies, Villarceaux solves the classic golf-day problem: a course beautiful enough to impress clients, far enough that nobody should drive themselves after the dinner. Our event service runs several cars and vans under one booking — staggered pickups across Paris hotels or the airports, vehicles on standby through the golf and the toasts, one grouped return at night.
